Kid Cudi isn’t standing for accusations that he’s “washed” and directly called out a troll on X, formerly Twitter.
On Thursday (April 23), Cudi reposted a troll who suggested that Cudi’s more recent music isn’t on par with what they expect from him.
“I respect how Kid Cudi is now washed beyond repair but still shows up and puts out music,” reads the tweet, which was from an apparent Kanye West fan account. “I’ll never listen to his latest garbage but I respect it.”
In his response, Cudi ripped into the troll.
“Hahaha man FUCK U DUDE IM THE ILLEST N***A!!!” he wrote. “NO ONE in this industry can do what I do. Ugly hatin muthafuckas like u been on my dick for YEARS and I’m still here! U gotta learn bro, I ain’t NEVER give a fuck about what a troll like u has to say. U n***as ain’t stoppin nothing. I’m so wash but u just GOTTA tweet about me. Now, bum ass, watch me shine… TOUR NEXT WEEK GET TIX!!”
Cudi later deleted the post and appeared to block the troll, who seemingly got great amusement from the block despite getting only a small amount of engagement for trolling Cudi, who mostly keeps to himself.
Last year, Cudi announced a hiatus from music, but he walked back on that decision just last month when he released his first EP, HAVE U BN 2 HEAVEN @ NITE? He’s been keeping himself incredibly busy over the last year or so, and just recently hosted a private screening of his directorial debut, Doe. He shared a photo of the screening, which showed some of his friends in attendance, including actors Robert Pattinson and Brandon Perea, producer Dot da Genius, filmmaker and actor Alex Winter, and lightning technician Justin Dickson.
He also launched his new digital series Big Bro With Kid Cudi, and the debut episode featured Kylie Jenner. His Rebel Ragers tour, featuring M.I.A. and Big Boi, kicks off later this month in Phoenix.
