In an appearance on the Joe and Jada podcast, French Montana revealed how he slid into the DMs of Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra.
Appearing alongside Max B, the New York rapper told Jadakiss and Fat Joe how he met his fiancée.
“It was one of my homeboys, he plugged me with her in Dubai,” he told the hosts, as seen in the clip below. “I just happened to be in Dubai, I remember I had seen she put up that post where she divorced somebody. And I’m like, ‘I like her.’ ‘Cause it takes a lot of guts to throw that up. So when she threw that up, I’m like, ‘I like her.’”
He said that his friend knew somebody who knew Mahra, and he told his friend, “Do what you gotta do.”
Montana became engaged to Mahra, a princess of Dubai and the daughter of United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in August, just months after they went Instagram official.
Last year, Mahra announced that she split from her ex-husband because of his alleged infidelity.
“Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce,” she wrote in a viral post announcing her divorce from Emirati businessman and royal Sheikh Mana. “I divorce you, I divorce you, and I Divorce You. Take Care. Your ex-wife.”
Not long after the divorce, she was seen giving Montana a tour of Dubai.
Montana was previously married to entrepreneur and designer Nadeen Kharbouch from 2007 to 2014, and they share one 16-year-old son, Kruz Kharbouch.
For the most part, Montana and Mahra have been tight-lipped about their relationship. She recently joined the rapper for his 41st birthday at a private dinner at Aya Nightclub in New York City, where they were joined by Max B and Central Cee.
