French Montana's Kardashian ties made things a little complicated on the newest episode of Complex's GOAT Talk, especially when the conversation turned into a playful debate about who the "GOAT Kardashian" really is.
During the episode, French appeared hesitant to give a definitive answer when Max B asked him to pick just one member of the famous family. And it wasn't hard to see why, given French's history with the Kardashians (he dated Khloé for about a year, a little over a decade ago), making the question feel less like a simple hot take and more like a setup.
"You can pick one. I can't pick one," French admitted.
That opened the door for Max B to jump in with a wild but confident response.
"I'm picking the daddy, 'cause without the daddy none of them other muthafuckers would be here," Max said.
French immediately reacted and tried to steer him away from the chaos.
"Come on," said French, believing Max meant Caitlyn Jenner.
However, Max clarified which Kardashian he meant: Robert, the late family patriarch who was O.J. Simpson's friend and defense attorney during Simpson's infamous 1995 murder trial.
"I'm picking the daddy. Talking about the one that was running around with O.J.," Max said. French caught on and responded, "Oh, the one that passed away. All right."
The funniest twist came when Max had to clear up the confusion: "Yeah, who you thought I was talking about? You thought I was talking about [Caitlyn] Jenner?"
French answered plainly, "Yea."
Max snapped back and kept things technical while still being hilarious.
"No. [The prompt] said Kardashian. Not Jenner. Shout out to Kris Jenner, too. No disrespect," he said.
Even with French initially refusing to choose, he eventually landed on Robert Kardashian as well.
French and Khloé dated in 2014, and although they split after less than a year, French has spoken positively about their bond. In a 2019 interview, he said he and Khloé would "always be friends," noting there was no bad blood between them and describing their love as real, the kind of connection that doesn't just disappear even after a breakup.
