Ebro Suggests Ice Spice McDonald’s Fight Was Staged, Says She ‘Needs Promo Right Now’

Ebro Darden suggested that the viral video is "promo" to get the rapper back in the news.

Ebro Darden isn’t buying the recent viral video that showed Ice Spice getting slapped by a woman in a McDonald’s, leading to a physical altercation.

During a recent episode of the Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show, the former Hot 97 host weighed in with his co-host Laura Styles.

“She was just with her homegirl, just eating a little cheeseburger, and then she just came up,” Styles said, as seen in the clip below. “So Ice Spice just sits in a Hollywood McDonald's without security?” replied Ebro. “I think she had security there.”

Styles suggested that if Ice Spice had security with her at the McDonald’s, surely they would have responded to the altercation. Ebro added that the lack of a security response led him to believe that the video was staged.

“That's also kind of what made me feel like this might be, kind of promo, too,” said Ebro. “Y'all know I be looking for promo. Ice Spice needs promo right now… I feel like it was wrestling.” He further theorized that the girl was a friend and the “Deli” rapper suggested they fight. “Y'all believe in that? I'm not buying it.”

Styles disagreed, but Ebro insisted that something was off about the incident.

In the footage posted by TMZ last week, Ice Spice could be seen being approached by a woman who asked if they were “ready to shake ass.” The rapper and her friend asked the woman to leave, and the incident escalated, with the stranger slapping her in response. The fight continued into the street, and was eventually broken up by the perpetrator’s friend.

Ice Spice’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, later confirmed that the attack was reported to the Los Angeles Police Department. “The unprovoked attack on my client has been reported to the LAPD, and we will be pursuing any and all avenues to hold the perpetrators responsible for their actions, including criminally and civilly,” said Cohen. “We are also exploring holding the location responsible for their lack of appropriate security.”

The woman, who has since identified herself as Vayah, told TMZ that she attacked Ice Spice because she was rude. “Immediately, Ice Spice was being rude. She was like, ‘Why are you over here? You can leave, bye,’” she recalled in a video released to TMZ, claiming she complimented Ice Spice just moments before the incident. “I was like, ‘Why are you being rude? Pretty much.’”

Ice Spice also shared the incident on her social media with a preview of what appeared to be a new song. “This wouldn’t happen at Wendy’s,” she captioned the post.
