Yup, Drake Really Did the Meme and Rhymed 'Iceman' With 'Nice Man'

On the track "National Treasures," Drizzy really did a rhyme that fans joked about before 'Iceman' dropped.

With the arrival of his three new albums, specifically Iceman, Drake has either unwittingly played into a meme or proven once again how online he really is.

On the track “National Treasures,” which he first teased a year ago in the second episode of his Iceman livestream series, Drizzy drops a line at the end of the second verse that some fans predicted weeks ago. “How you n***as go from ‘askin for some tickets? Now you n***as tryna stop the show,” he raps. “Ironic ‘cause the Iceman was a nice man, now I’m hot and cold.”

In the lead-up to the release of Iceman, which later turned out to be one of three new albums, fans joked that Drake would find a way to rhyme Iceman with “nice man.” In fact, some fans took it upon themselves to produce AI-generated tracks that were comically bad, and one that went viral featured a similar bar to what appeared on “National Treasures.”

“I am the Iceman, I’m a pretty nice man,” one of the many fake leaks went, as seen in a TikTok post below. “I’ll cook some rice, man / my heart is precise, man / it’s on a device, man / I roll the dice, man / That’s my advice, man.”

Some fans even joked about a “nice man” bar appearing on the record weeks ago.

Was it an intentional nod to the meme, or did the title of the record prove for a safe prediction about what Drake might rap on the project? It’s hard to say, but either way, it’s proven to be another moment from the embarrassment of riches Drake dropped for fans on Friday (May 15).
