Detroit rapper AllStar JR finally has a trial date for the charges he’s facing in connection with a restaurant shooting that reportedly also involved NBA Ben10.
As detailed in court documents from the Southern District of Texas reviewed by Complex, a trial for the rapper, real name Jeremy Christopher Ford, will start at the United States Courthouse in Houston, Texas on July 6, 2026. The trial is expected to last for three days.
In a criminal complaint filed on April 17, AllStar JR was accused of opening fire inside a Houston restaurant that same month. He is facing federal gun charges in connection with the incident, which investigators said was caught on surveillance video. Authorities said that the footage showed the rapper was jumped at a restaurant on April 8, with multiple people approaching him on camera in an attempt to take his necklace and watch.
The altercation escalated to a physical confrontation, during which a handgun fell to the floor. AllStar allegedly picked up the gun and began firing. One person fell to the ground after being shot, while the others involved escaped to a nearby elevator. The person who was shot was later approached by the rapper, who allegedly firing more shots and pistol-whipped them as they laid on the floor before he left.
Prosecutors accused AllStar JR of taunting the others involved in the incident in several videos shared on social media, including a music video for his song “Mob United.” Authorities said the shooting took place at a restaurant on Kirby Drive, and in the track, the rapper name-drops the restaurant Confessions, which is located on Kirby Drive.
The rapper NBA Ben10 was reportedly in critical condition after being shot multiple times during an altercation the same night at the same restaurant, but authorities have not specified who AllStar JR allegedly shot. The rapper, real name Ben Anthony Fields, was later confirmed to be one of the two individuals shot during the confrontation, according to his family in an interview with KPRC.
