EsDeeKid and Marty Supreme star Timothée Chalamet have seemingly put all rumors to rest that they’re the same person by teasing the release of a “4 RAWS” remix.
On Friday, the rapper and actor (or maybe the same person, actually?) shared a snippet of the collab on Instagram, followed by a clip from a music video featuring the two side by side.
During a recent BBC 1 Radio interview Timothée was directly asked about his relation to the rapper. “No comment," he replied, adding, "all will be reveled in due time."
Some of the earliest rumors of the two being the same person date back to August 7, when a post titled “Is timothee chalamet really esdeekid?” appeared on the rapper’s subreddit. Since then, the rumor has continued to gain steam, as split-screens of the rapper and actor circulated on social media.
Then in early November, a TikTok user by the name of @gothauntie0 made a four-minute mini-video essay that got hundreds of thousands of view floating the theory. The most compelling piece of evidence presented was a focus on Timmy and EsDeeKid eyes, which, admittedly, look similar.
Another clue was the Alexander McQueen skull scarf, which both the rapper and the actor wore at different moments. Timothée wore it during SNL 50, while EsDee sported the same scarf at Clout music festival. Timothée also attended fakemink’s show in August. Fakemink is one of EsDee’s close friends and a collaborator on their breakout track, “LV Sandals.” Generally, Timothée has long shown that he is a rap fanatic, from rapping Lil Uzi Vert word for word to being “knighted” by Lil B during his time at NYU.
The Marty Supreme movie rollout, which Timothée shouts out on the “4 RAWS” remix, continues at full force. The Josh Safdie-directed film is hitting theaters on December 25 and also stars Tyler, The Creator, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Odessa A'zion.
