Timothée Chalamet, White Boy of the Year, has playfully declined to either confirm or deny the fervently spread conspiracy theory purporting that he and Liverpool-based rapper EsDeeKid are one and the same.
In a recent interview with the Heart Breakfast crew amid ongoing Marty Supreme promo, the two-time Oscar nominee was asked to provide some clarity on whether there was any truth to the theory, which he flatly declined to share.
“I got no comment on that,” he said, before the hosts started highlighting some of the similarities that fans have zeroed in on as of late.
Despite his initial “no comment” stance, Chalamet went on to offer what he billed as “two words on that,” followed by a dramatic pause.
“All will be reveled in due time,” he added, joking that his swiftly headlined statement does indeed include “a little bit more than two words.”
The conspiracy theory has persisted for some time now, having seemingly originated on TikTok before truly catching fire once it started to spread elsewhere.
In November, Complex went so far as to reach out to reps for Chalamet and EsDeeKid both, pointing out at the time that such efforts were done “mainly just for the sheer hell of it.” We did not, however, receive responses from either’s respective teams.
In Josh Safdie’s Marty Supreme, out Christmas Day, Chalamet leads a blisteringly dialed-in cast that also features Tyler, The Creator in his feature acting debut. Earlier this week, the A24-backed film netted multiple Golden Globes nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
