Yailin La Más Viral was arrested in the Dominican Republic after authorities linked her to the illegal possession of two firearms, though her attorney claims the weapons didn’t belong to her.

According to Noticias Telemicro, on Wednesday (March 25), the 23-year-old Dominican artist (born Jorgina Lulú Guillermo Díaz) was arrested in Santo Domingo following alleged illegal possession of two firearms.

The news station reported that agents from the Central Directorate of Investigation stopped a green Lamborghini carrying Yailin and two other individuals, where police allegedly found two pistols with magazines that were described as illegal.

Footage aired the following day showing Yailin being escorted to court in Santo Domingo under heavy police security for a hearing.

Prosecutors are investigating the incident as a violation of the country’s laws on the control and regulation of weapons, ammunition, and related materials.

If convicted, Yailin could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years.

Authorities also noted that the Lamborghini is registered to Carlos Higinio de Jesús Veras, a former deputy for the Modern Revolutionary Party.

Noticias Telemicro reports that this detail has revived public debate, as it is presumed the vehicle was brought into the country under a tax exemption granted by Jesús’ legislative position.

During the proceedings, Yailin’s defense argued that prosecutors already know who is actually responsible for the weapons and are unfairly targeting the artist.

“It's important to point out that a public figure is being targeted here, even though the prosecutor's office already has a preliminary investigation and knows who is responsible for the act they're trying to pin on her,” the artist’s attorneys said.

One of the other initially detained individuals allegedly admitted involvement with the weapons, but the defense claims that testimony has not been fully incorporated into the case.

Yailin La Más Viral, known for hits “Bing Bong” and “Chapa,” shares a 3-year-old daughter, Cattleya, with reggaeton artist Anuel AA. She previously dated Tekashi 6ix9ine in 2023 before their split in August 2024.
