Chet Hanks is taking on the “Iris” trend while trolling Jack Harlow.
The trend is where millennials and older share photos of what they looked like back in the early aughts, set to the soundtrack of Goo Goo Dolls’ 1998 hit, “Iris.”
As seen in the video shared to his Instagram account on Monday (April 7), the 35-year-old son of Tom Hanks responds to a fan who asked to see what he was like back in the day.
The slideshow gets through multiple photos of Chet in his teens until about 26 seconds in, he trolls his viewers by including a 2025 photo of the “Lovin On Me” rapper.
Chet Hanks, recently back in the U.S. after being stranded in Colombia, shared a teaser for a new song from his country-inspired project Something Out West. In the track, he and collaborator Drew Arthur reflect on a past lifestyle of heavy partying, including “cocaine and strippers,” while suggesting remorse for that behavior.
Meanwhile, Hanks will soon be seen in the second season of Netflix’s Lakers-inspired series Running Point, led by Kate Hudson. New episodes debut this month.
