Jack Harlow will bring his fourth album, Monica, on the road this summer.
On Wednesday (March 25), the “Trade Places” artist announced his Monica Tour, which begins August 4 at the Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, New York. The 17-date tour will continue with shows in Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, Atlanta, Los Angeles and more before concluding September 21 at Fox Theater in Oakland, California.
Ticket sales begin with a artist and CITI presale on Thursday, March 26, followed by general onsale on Friday, March 27. The Monica Tour will also have a VIP package experience, which includes early entrance, priority floor access and a special gift.
Monica, which was released on March 13, is the follow-up to Harlow’s 2023 album Jackman and presents a more neo-soul-inspired sound, which longtime fans have gotten accustomed to. Others, however, haven’t been sold on the LP, especially after the Louisville artist claimed that his sound has gotten “Blacker.”
"I love Black music. I love the sound of Black music, and of course I'm hyper aware of the politics of today, that safer landing spot that a lot of my white contemporaries have found,” Harlow said on a recent episode of The New York Times’ Popcast.
The album has spawned memes about Harlow’s new look by superimposing his face onto classic albums. The Breakfast Club co-host Charlamagne Tha God even repeatedly snubbed it on air.
“We've interviewed Jack Harlow. Jack is a nice guy. But I told y'all on Friday that this album made him whiter,” Charlamagne said on the show earlier this month. “And saying the music made you Blacker is exactly why I said this album made him whiter.”
