We are just hours away from Summer Walker’s long-awaited third studio album Finally Over It. And in the moments leading up to the record, the “Heart of a Woman” hitmaker is committed to the bit.
On Thursday, November 13, Walker made an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Of course, she made the famous pre-show ritual — a walk down the spirit tunnel. Though she may have been dressed for a walk down the aisle.
As she strolled down the viral tunnel, Walker was wearing a flowing white wedding dress. The crew sang “Summer Walker’s at J. Hud, walking down the tunnel, walking down the tunnel” to the tune of Walker’s hit single, “Heart of a Woman.”
Marriage appears to be a big theme in the Finally Over It rollout. While the album’s previously released singles “Heart of a Woman” and “Spend It” were released months ago, Walker began the album rollout in September, when she arrived to the MTV Video Music Awards with an elderly man — who appeared to be her sugar daddy — as her guest. The same man appears on the cover art of Finally Over It, recreating an iconic photo of the late Anna Nicole Smith and J. Howard Marshall during their infamous 1994 wedding.
During the promotional period for the album, Walker has been interacting with fans. Last weekend, she drove a dump truck to colleges in Atlanta, encouraging people to get rid of their exes’ belongings. She also launched a pop-up escape room, with rooms themed after the albums in the Over It trilogy — 2019’s Over It, 2021’s Still Over It, and the upcoming Finally Over It.
Thursday’s walk down the spirit tunnel made for one final pleasant interaction with fans before the album drops. At the end of her stroll, Walker tossed the bouquet, which one lucky crew member caught.
