At long last, a new Jill Scott album is on the way.

On Friday, January 2, the neo-soul icon announced her sixth studio album To Whom This May Concern.

To Whom This May Concern arrives next month, and will mark Scott’s first studio album in 10 years. Her previous album, Woman, was released back in July of 2015, and was her final release on Atlantic Records.

Scott revealed the news of To Whom This May Concern via her Instagram account on Friday morning.

“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE and THANK YOU for your patience and your listening ears,” Scott wrote in the post’s caption, addressing fans who have waited for so long.

To Whom This May Concern boasts a coveted list of collaborators. Among the producers are Adam Blackstone, Om'Mas Keith, DJ Premier, Camper, Andre Harris, Siege Monstracity, Trombone Shorty, Eric Wortham, DW Wright, and VT Tolan. The album will also contain vocal guest contributions from Ab-Soul, J.I.D., Tierra Whack, and Too $hort.

“At its core, To Whom This May Concern is an offering leaning heavily into the power of connectivity, humanity, and collective home,” reads a statement accompanying the album announcement. “It reflects Scott’s grit and grace, grounded in her lifelong commitment to inspire, uplift, and remind us that sometimes the most powerful magic is simply showing up with love, truth, and with always a song in heart.”

Ahead of the album, Scott has released its lead single, “Beautiful People.” The song marks a gorgeous return to the Grammy winner’s neo-soul roots, as she celebrates the love of her friends and family — “my beautiful people,” as she calls them. Near the song’s end, Scott displays powerful vocals and ad-libs, reminding her day-one fans that she’s still got it.

To Whom This May Concern arrives Friday, February 13 via The Orchard.
