Nine suspects were caught on tape clowning around during a robbery near Warrenton, Virginia.

In surveillance footage captured by the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, the individuals emerged from a Hyundai Sonata, some of whom in the vehicle's truck, during the robbery on Oct. 15, per Fox 5.

Upon parking and exiting the car, the group immediately went into Accolades Vape and Tobacco Shop, where they reportedly stole $13,000 in merchandise. Among their grabs were Pokémon cards.

In a video shared by the sheriff's office, authorities poked fun at the unseriousness of the robbery by playing clown music over the clip. Authorities still need help finding the suspects and have asked that anyone who recognizes the group to contact (540) 422-8630.

The Virginia area recently had actual clown-inspired crime suspects. Ahead of Halloween, a trio dressed in terrifying Halloween costumes were caught on a doorbell camera trying to break into the house belonging to a woman in Alexandria, Virginia.

"What was most concerning in this event is not only did they knock on the door, make alarming comments, but they went around to the rear of the residence, caused damage to the property... They were just hitting the window," the home's owner, Shayla McGuire, told ABC 7.
