A a man suspected of stealing a truck literally fell into the hands of SWAT members after an hours-long standoff in Florida.

According to WPTV, the suspect, Sebastian, Florida-based Keith Rodgers, was accused of hauling lumber in a truck stolen in Osceola County on October 19. The lumber was purchased at a local Home Depot, with the Indian River County Sheriff's Office later reporting that the stolen vehicle was parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Melrose Lane.

After being spotted unloading wood from the truck, Rogers fled into the home on Monday (November 10) and barricaded himself for several hours. Due to Rogers' lengthy rap sheet, it was suspected that he'd get into a shootout, thus the SWAT and crisis negotiators rushing to the scene.

But the law enforcement unit didn't resort to a last-ditch effort; as seen in the video below, Rogers eventually fell after spending hours hiding in the attic. His hide-and-seek plan landed with a thud, and he was subsequently arrested.

The suspect is currently being held on a $20,000 bond and is charged with grand theft auto and resisting an officer without violence.

If Rogers wanted to go on a (legal) crime spree, he could have waited for the arrival of Grand Theft Auto 6, which, unironically, is based in a fictional version of Florida.
