Savannah Guthrie is asking the public for prayers as the search continues for her missing mother, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.

Nancy was first reported missing by a family member around noon on Sunday, February 1, after she did not show up for church in the morning. Police now believe that she was possibly taken from her Arizona home in the middle of the night and that this could be an abduction.

“We know she didn’t just walk out of there,” said Sheriff Chris Nanos.

Nancy’s home has been described as a “crime scene,” and homicide detectives have joined the search. Drones, a helicopter, and search dogs are also being utilized to try to find the missing 84-year-old.

While investigators have emphasized that Nancy has no known cognitive issues and is of “very sound mind,” they did not acknowledge that she has some physical ailments that limit her mobility. She is also currently without the medication she needs for survival.

On Monday night, Guthrie turned to Instagram to issue a desperate plea on behalf of her beloved mom.

“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she began.

“Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you,” she continued.

Savannah concluded with a verse from Isaiah, writing, “He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”

Savannah has previously opened up about how Nancy raised her and her two siblings as a single mother after Savannah’s father tragically passed away from a sudden heart attack when she was just 16-years-old.
