Kim Kardashian is not expressing regret over gifting each of her four children with their own dog for Christmas.
Kim previously revealed that each of her four kids, including 12-year-old North West, 10-year-old Saint West, 8-year-old Chicago West, and 6-year-old Psalm West, were surprised with a Pomeranian puppy for Christmas.
She later received online backlash, with many expressing their opinion that the billionaire should have chosen to adopt dogs from a shelter. Others stated that they felt she was treating the puppies as if they were toys and not living beings.
Nevertheless, Kim says that this controversial gift has changed her family for the better.
During an episode of Khloé in Wonderland, Kim told her sister Khloé Kardashian about the important lesson her children have learned since the puppies joined their family.
“These Pomeranians are so tiny. It’s a handful, but it’s taught my kids in the last few weeks so much responsibility,” she said.
The family now owns six dogs. In addition to the four new puppies, they also own two older dogs.
Kim’s oldest daughter, North, is particularly attached to her new pet.
“North has traveled with Uzi. She named him Uzi. He's always with her in her room,” Kim said.
Khloé acknowledged that the children do their part in caring for the dogs.
“I do love that Chi cleans up after her dog. She’s not great at it, but she does it,” she said.
Nevertheless, some people still aren’t buying it.
Ingrid Newkirk, the founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), issued a scathing statement about the issue.
"Puppies are not plushies, and it's a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that,” she said.
