Many people likely know that Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift are hardly the best of friends. Swift has feuded on and off with Kardashian and her ex-husband on several heated occasions throughout the years.

However, when the reality TV star's sister Khloé Kardashian asked her about Swift during the Wednesday, January 21 episode of her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land, what Kim had to say may come as a bit of a shock to some fans.

“Do you think people would be surprised that you listen to Taylor Swift?” Khloé asked.

Kim acknowledged that she’s never claimed not to like Swift’s music, even if the two may not have gotten along so well over the years.

“People would be surprised,” Khloé said, still determined.

“I have some of her older songs on my playlist,” Kim confessed. “I’ve always thought she was, like, a super talented great artist.”

Kim went on to note that she “loves country music,” suggesting that she might not be as familiar with Swift’s more recent work.

Drama between Kim and Swift reached a tipping point when Kim’s then-husband, West, released a controversial song entitled “Famous.” The song includes an explicit lyric in which West takes responsibility for making Swift famous due to an infamously awkward moment during the 2009 VMAs in which he took the microphone from her as she was receiving an award.

Despite Kim and West insisting that Swift had given permission for the lyric to be used in the 2016 song, she claimed she had never heard the full verse. Kim later released a clip of a phone call between West and Swift that seemed to suggest that Swift was being untruthful. It was eventually determined that this clip had been edited to try to back up Kim and West’s claims.

With a history like that, it’s no surprise that Kim, despite liking some of the pop star’s music, might not exactly call herself a Swiftie.
