On Tuesday, August 26, Taylor Swift turned to Instagram to reveal that she and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, had gotten engaged. It was the news that had everyone buzzing, not just in the United States but across the globe.
Some of Swift’s high-profile friends, including Selena Gomez—who shared a congratulatory Instagram Story—publicly congratulated her. Many others likely opted to reach out to share their congratulations privately. But one person who hasn’t posted a public comment on the engagement is Blake Lively.
Over the past year, Lively has been at the center of major legal drama with her former co-star Jason Baldoni. She previously filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment. He denied the allegations and later filed a countersuit against her.
According to Good Morning America, Swift was ultimately brought into the drama when Baldoni publicly shared text messages between him and Lively in which Lively referred to Swift as one of her “dragons.”
Following the release of these messages, Swift and Lively’s friendship hit a rocky point.
"Taylor and Blake aren't speaking," a source recently told People.
Back in April, a source previously told People that Swift "was really hurt" when she became involved in Lively's legal drama. Later on, this source revealed that the pair were working toward being "on good terms," though their friendship "isn't the same as it was before."
It is not expected that Lively will be in the wedding, although she may be in attendance. Swift and Kelce's wedding date has not yet been announced.
It's a very exciting season for Swift, who recently revealed that she will be dropping her next album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3. The news, which she shared on Kelce's New Heights podcast, caused massive excitement throughout social media. This will be the massively successful pop star's 12th studio album.
