A Kentucky mother has been hit with a child abuse charge after she allegedly tattooed her 22-month-old child.
People reports that on Monday (May 4), Brook McDaniel was arrested after someone filed a child abuse complaint with the Kentucky State Police. According to records obtained by the outlet, troopers found McDaniel and her son at their Monticello, Kentucky home, where she told them that she had “been tattooing her leg” when the incident happened.
“The child walked up to her and stuck his arm in the way of her tattoo gun,” the arrest citation added. Included was a note that her son had a “black dot tattoo on his right forearm with redness around the area.”
McDaniel claimed to witnesses that her son “wanted the tattoo,” calling it a “party dot.”
According to the citation, the state police contacted the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services because McDaniel’s home was in a “deplorable” condition.
Arrest records show that McDaniel was charged with fourth-degree assault (child abuse) and is being held at the Adair County Detention Center. She’s also being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
