OBJ remains a free agent, but there is increased talk that he could make his NFL comeback with Big Blue.

Odell Beckham Jr. was once at the top of his profession. OBJ was a lock for 1,000-plus yards receiving in a season early in his career, with the brunt of that success coming in a New York Giants uniform.

Now 33-years-old and having tore his ACL twice in his career, there is no doubt that Beckham is on the Back-9—or even 18th hole of his NFL career. He has not played in an NFL game since Dec. 8, 2024 when he was a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Beckham did not play in the NFL last season. He was suspended six games in 2025 for failing a PED test while a member of the Dolphins the year prior. The wide receiver said he was told by the league that his testosterone levels were “too high” and that was the reasoning behind the suspension.

Despite this rocky stretch, Beckham is still very much interested in making an NFL comeback, and he’s particularly keen on making that comeback with the Giants. Here is a look at the latest OBJ buzz.

Odell Beckham to New York Giants rumors
Beckham and new Giants head coach John Harbaugh have been quite open about their mutual interest in having Beckham finish his pro career in the place it started. The Giants had OBJ in for a workout back on April 20 and Harbaugh stated that the wide receiver “looked good.”

Harbaugh said on May 9 that a decision on whether or not to sign Beckham would not be happening soon, but probably “into training camp.” The Giants coach, who coached Beckham for one season in Baltimore in 2023, called OBJ one of his “favorite people in the world” and stated that he is in frequent contact with the WR.

“Talked to Odell a lot, probably three or four times in the last week to see where he’s at, where we’re at,” Harbaugh said on May 9. “He’s in Arizona right now training and spending time with his son. The goal for right now is for him to train and get as ready as he can be. And then we’ll see where we’re at at that time.”

Beckham himself has stated that he would love to return to the Giants.

“[A return to the Giants] sounds great. If that opportunity presents itself, I would love to do that. I would be excited about that,” Beckham told Kay Adams in an interview before the Fanatics Flag Football Classic in March.

Odell Beckham outlook
It’s been a rough go for Beckham since Oct. 25, 2020 when he tore his ACL against the Bengals while a member of the Cleveland Browns. Since then, he has been plagued by injuries and his production has dropped precipitously.

In five of his first six seasons in the NFL, OBJ caught over 1,000 yards receiving—even in 2018 when he played in just 12 games.

Here are his season numbers since the 2020 ACL tear:

  • 2021 Browns/Rams: 14 games, 44 catches, 537 yards, 5 TDs
  • 2022: Recovery from second ACL tear, went unsigned as a free agent
  • 2023 Ravens: 14 games, 35 catches, 565 yards, 3 TDs
  • 2024 Dolphins: 9 games, 9 catches, 55 yards, 0 TDs
