Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Andrew Irving, born in Melbourne, Australia, and raised in West Orange, New Jersey, entered the NBA as the first overall pick in the 2011 draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He quickly established himself with a signature crossover and clutch performances, including hitting the game-winning three-pointer in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals to secure Cleveland’s first championship. Irving has also played for the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, earning nine NBA All-Star selections and winning the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 2012. Off the court, Irving has been a prominent figure in sneaker culture. He previously had a partnership with Nike, which launched the Kyrie line in 2014, but this partnership was terminated in December 2022. He subsequently signed a new deal with ANTA in July 2023. The Kyrie 7, released in 2020, features a traction pattern inspired by Irving’s quick, multidirectional playing style. Limited-edition collaborations, such as the Kyrie 6 “Uncle Drew” series tied to his film character, have become highly sought after by collectors and basketball enthusiasts alike.
