Telfar has gone micro for the return of its much-discussed “plastic bag” line.

To be clear, the bags, though their design offers the Telfar Clemens-founded brand’s take on a “staple New York sidewalk silhouette,” are not actually single-use. Instead, the Telfar Plastic Bag is intended to provide a go-to for one’s day-to-day essentials, all while playfully nodding at an instantly recognizable facet of city life.

As explained in the run-up to a restock of the bags, prospective buyers were alerted to the launch of a new size, Micro, available in multiple patterns for $88.

The currently available lineup of Telfar Plastic Bags as of this writing boasts nude, pink, baby blue, white, and Black models in three different sizes (including Micro). Other editions, including the Regular Flower and OMG models, are only available in Regular and Jumbo sizes.

For those unfamiliar, the Telfar Plastic Bag first launched in Regular and Jumbo sizes in the summer of last year. With the edition of the new Micro size in six different prints, the always-shrewd brand is expanding on its stated goal of crafting a bag that straddles the line between serving and delivering.

“Saying everything without saying anything, all with a smile,” brand reps said of the larger intention behind this Telfar-ification of an everyday item. “Thanking you for shopping. It’s the bag you put the other bag in, or the bag you put in the other bag.”

For two decades now, Telfar has continued to make waves while reinforcing its unique presence in fashion. The brand has also reinvigorated the shopping experience for many, including via its inventive “blind pre-order” campaign and more.
