After four years, Kim Jones and Fendi are calling it a day on their collaborative journey together.
Friday, per Women’s Wear Daily, Fendi owner LVMH issued a statement confirming the designer’s departure. Worth pointing out here is that Jones is reportedly set to proceed with his work for Dior, another LVMH-owned house.
“Kim Jones made significant contributions to the brand’s creative legacy, seamlessly integrating his modern and cross-cultural aesthetics with Fendi’s historical heritage,” the statement reads. “Under his leadership, the maison reinvented its ready-to-wear and couture collections, offering an inclusive and innovative approach to fashion that constantly renewed Fendi’s Italian codes. Throughout his four years, Jones’ work was wholly guided by passion and creativity.”
Jones was brought in at Fendi, where he put his design prowess to use across womenswear and couture, in the fall of 2020. The position Jones took on was previously held by the late Karl Lagerfeld.

In 2025, Fendi will mark its 100th anniversary. The collection Jones presented in Milan in September tackled this head on, with the idea of legacy explored through a lens that sews multiple eras brought together under a single season.
