Fresh off winning the gold medal in figure skating at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, Alysa Liu is getting some celebratory apparel with Nike.
A black fleece hoodie and t-shirt, with a photo negative image of Liu, can be seen on Nike’s website, along with a note indicating the drop is “coming soon.”
Liu made history last month when she became the first U.S. woman to capture figure skating singles gold since 2002.
That moment seemed unlikely just four years ago when Liu announced her retirement from the sport at the age of 16.
"i started skating when i was 5 so that’s about 11 years on the ice and it’s been an insane 11 years," she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. "i honestly never thought i would’ve accomplished as much as i did LMAOO i’m so happy. i feel so satisfied with how my skating career has gone."
When she decided to return to figure skating two years later, Liu told 60 Minutes that she would only do so on her own terms, which included everything from her program to what she ate and how she trained.
This approach ultimately proved to be a winning formula for the 20-year-old, who will forever be mentioned alongside the likes of Kristi Yamaguchi, Tara Lipinski, and Peggy Fleming, who also took home gold for the United States.
