Meagan Good is sharing more details about when her skin was accidentally bleached after she received a skin treatment for anti-aging.

The Think Like a Man star was on the Wednesday (April 1) episode of The Breakfast Club and revealed that she learned to ignore negative comments after unintentionally bleaching her skin.

At the time, Good sought an anti-aging treatment but was encouraged to remove her “dark spots” at the urging of an esthetician.

Good recalled telling the esthetician that her dark spots were like a “natural contour” before the skin professional told the actress that her “skin would be so clear.”

“I start using the product. I instantly see that I'm getting lighter and she's like, ‘Don't worry, just give it a few weeks. All your color will come back,’” Good explained. “I give it a few weeks, and I look so pale and so crazy.”

Good then attended a premiere in New York, and after being photographed, she appeared to be “blown out” and extremely light.

“As a Black woman, I would never do that to myself. And it just broke my heart to think that young Black girls would think that I did that or like I don't like myself,” she said. “I was like, ‘Why would I do that all of a sudden at 39 years old? That's crazy.’”

Good added that the rumors that she bleached her skin were “so humiliating” because she couldn’t prove otherwise at the time.

“I couldn't do anything. I was like, ‘I look crazy,’” she continued. “‘I literally have to just sit in this and accept that people are going to think that I did this to myself.’”

In 2020, Good appeared on Hollywood Unlocked Uncensored and shared that she felt unable to “defend” herself. In an attempt to reverse the skin treatment, the esthetician gave Good a serum that burnt and discolored her face.

“I had open flesh all over my face. My face was completely discolored and it was just it was really traumatizing,” Good said. She also confirmed that she worked with another dermatologist who successfully reversed the bleaching.
