2025 will possibly be Colman Domingo's biggest year to fully establish himself as a notable in upscale fashion.

To promote his upcoming Netflix series The Madness and the theatrical re-release of his prison drama Sing Sing, Domingo visited The View on Monday, Nov. 25. The Emmy-winning actor also discussed his debut as Met Gala co-chair alongside Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour, and honorary co-chair LeBron James for the 2025 Met Gala on May 5, 2025. The theme of the occasion is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, an honor to Black dandyism and luxury pieces worn by Black men throughout history.

"I'm going to have a good time," Colman said around the two-minute mark of the video below. "Anna Wintour called me up and she wanted me to be a part of this. I'm looking forward to it because we get to honor Black male tailoring spanning decades."

He continued, "It's a historic moment and we know a lot of Black men have sort of made and created the culture, and so it's great to have this honor."

Last month, Domingo told Entertainment Tonight that his Met Gala co-chair invite was a "beautiful thing."

"You get a call from Anna Wintour herself and she really talks you through sort of the responsibility of what she hopes to make and inspire, which is all in support of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art."

He continued, "So you know that it's a benefit supporting that and you know that these moments are critical moments to showcase clothing and culture and she wanted to focus on the Black dandy."

Elsewhere on The View, Domingo teased the Antoine Fuqua-directed Michael as not shying away "from the complicated nature of Michael Jackson at all."

"It's going to really deal with it head-on, but it's also going to really show the performer that he was, the human being that he was, the complicated human being, the making of that human being," Domingo said.

In Michael, Domingo will play the "formidable father" of Joe Jackson, opposite Nia Long as Katherine Jackson.

While Michael comes to the theater on Oct. 5, 2025, The Madness will be available to stream on Netflix beginning Friday, Nov. 28.
