Marco Rubio is going viral after appearing in a gray Nike tracksuit made famous by Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.

Rubio drew widespread attention on Tuesday (May 12) after being photographed aboard Air Force One wearing the outfit while traveling with President Donald Trump to China for a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The image was shared to X by White House communications director Steven Cheung.

“Secretary Rubio rocking the Nike Tech ‘Venezuela’ on Air Force One! [laugh-crying emoji],” Cheung wrote.

The photo showed Rubio in the now-infamous gray tracksuit, a look that social media users quickly linked to Maduro's attire during his capture by U.S. special forces in early January.

Notably, the New York Post referred to the photo as “Maduromaxxing,” a riff off of the “looksmaxxing” trend made popular by controversial content creator Clavicular.

Maduro was reportedly captured in an early morning raid on January 3, and later photographed in custody wearing the same style of Nike tracksuit while being transported under guard.

After his capture, Trump posted an image of Maduro blindfolded and handcuffed aboard the USS Iwo Jima, and the White House later released video of him being "perp walked" by Drug Enforcement Administration agents at New York's Stewart Air National Guard Base.

Maduro was later held at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center and has appeared in federal court in Manhattan alongside his wife Cillia Flores, per People.

Maduro faces charges including narco-terrorism conspiracy and cocaine importation conspiracy, while Flores faces related drug and weapons charges, and both have pleaded not guilty.

Maduro has described himself as a "prisoner of war."
