Jon Jones' New Haircut Makes Him Look Like Aang From 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'

Jon Jones has revealed a new look.

In case you don’t get that reference, the veteran UFC fighter who’s known for switching up his look, has premiered a new haircut inspired by the popular American anime show, Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Jones hopped online earlier this week to show he’d gotten the hair on his head cut in the shape of an arrow — identical to what Avatar’s protagonist, Aang has (except the arrow in his head isn’t hair).

Jones, excited to have the haircut, smiles to the camera in the video showing off the haircut. In a slightly confusing gesture, he pays homage to another anime series, Naruto, with a ‘Jutsu’ hand motion. Could he be confusing the two shows? Or just shouting them both out?

Jones’ new haircut comes at an exciting point in his career with the recent reveal that he may be stepping back into the ring for a much-desired fight with Tom Aspinall.

The veteran UFC heavyweight champion previously insisted that he didn’t want to fight in anything other than legacy matches following his knockout win against former champion Stipe Miocic in November.

But according to UFC president Dana White, Jones is interested in facing off against Aspinall, who’s currently destroying the heavyweight division and is next in line for the championship belt.

“Jon Jones definitely wants the fight,” said White. “Now, we’re working on when and where.”

Could Jones be trying to channel the spirit of an anime legend to help him prepare for the match? We’ll have to wait and see.

Last month, Jones partnered with the nonprofit Power to the Patients for a Super Bowl ad that brought attention to the healthcare crisis in the United States while also calling for a more equitable system.

“I am proud to be joining Power to the Patients to take on hospitals and insurance companies that refuse to show their prices,” Jones said in a statement. “This fight for me is a personal one, and arguably the most important fight of my career.”
