Sherrone Moore’s 2018 remark about attending a gala hosted by Diddy has received renewed attention amid coverage of his University of Michigan firing and subsequent arrest.
The former head coach, who earlier this week was arrested and accused of assault following his firing over an alleged "inappropriate relationship with a staff member," expressed excitement in a post on X in May 2018 about attending a gala hosted by the disgraced music mogul as part of that year's Kentucky Derby festivities.
"What a great week in Paris!" Moore wrote at the time (as seen in the post below). "Such a blessing to be [a part] of the Michigan family! Off to the 'ville for the weekend to enjoy the Kentucky Derby festivities! Trifecta Gala hosted by Diddy tonight to start it off!"
While the X post itself doesn’t actually link Moore to any alleged Diddy-related nefariousness, nor is there any evidence that the gala itself featured any such behavior, that hasn’t stopped the general public from calling attention to it.
"There was always signs omg," one X user wrote, while another said: "Coach, I am from the future, this will not age well."

In a press release issued Friday (December 12), the Pittsfield Township Police Department announced that criminal charges against Moore, 39, had been authorized by prosecutors.
He has since been arraigned on charges including third-degree home invasion; stalking; and breaking and entering or entering without breaking "for allegedly unlawfully entering the dwelling of a victim with whom Mr. Moore had a dating relationship." The home invasion charge is a felony and carries the potential for a sentence of as much as five years behind bars.
Diddy is currently behind bars after being sentenced to 50 months on two Mann Act violations. This month, a four-part documentary on the Bad Boy Records founder was released on Netflix.
50 Cent served as an executive producer on the project, elements of which have been publicly questioned by Diddy's reps. Netflix, meanwhile, is standing behind the series.
