Kevin Durant to Those Arguing With Him About Drake and J. Cole: 'Just Listen to the Music and STFU'

As KD sees it, Drake is the "GOAT" and Cole is showing his "mastery" on his latest track.

Kevin Durant has offered some timely advice for those insisting on arguing with him about J. Cole and Drake.

Over the weekend, KD expressed admiration for the recently released “cLOUDs,” which arrived as a surprise for fans via Cole’s blog. In the Suns power forward’s eyes, “mastery” is on display in the latest from Cole.

“I don’t care about none of that fake tough guy shit,” KD said on X on Saturday. “This is mastery.”

Expectedly, many were quick to reply to KD’s post with mentions of Drake, who was initially joined in his feud against Kendrick Lamar by Cole before the Dreamville co-founder publicly bowed out.

“I’m throwing shade at fans like you, been hatin’ on Cole this whole time,” Durant said in response to one such reply. “Just listen to the music and stfu.”

In response to another, Durant pushed back against the assertion that the track “gets no playback,” noting that it “gets playback in my AirPods” and “that’s all that matters to me.”

Elsewhere, Durant took issue with listeners who are quick to call Cole “soft,” not to mention those who were just as quick to argue that Drake was an example of the “fake tough guy shit” that Kd himself mentioned in his initial post.

“Rappin’ about protecting everything you’ve earned is not fake tough guy shit,” Durant, who called Drake “the GOAT,” said.

KD and Drake have long been friendly. In 2023, Durant received an A&R credit on Drake’s For All the Dogs album. Drake has also tucked a few KD nods into his lyrics over the past decade-plus, including on FATD track “All the Parties.”

Drake’s latest, a joint album with OVO artist PARTYNEXTDOOR, is currently the No. 1 album in the country.
