Karl-Anthony Towns, still riding high after the Knicks clinched their first title in over half a century, is understandably fond of Jordyn Woods’ orange clutch.
In a Tonight Show appearance on Monday (June 15) alongside fellow Knicks standout Jalen Brunson and the team’s head coach, Mike Brown, KAT was asked about the bag in question, which, for the more superstitious among us, has become a lightning rod for good luck charm theorizing.
“What do you want me to say?” Towns, who is engaged to Woods, told host Jimmy Fallon. “We were undefeated in the playoffs with it. Obviously, she made some magic when she made that Woods by Jordyn bag, for sure.”
Meanwhile, Towns was even more effusive in his praise of the bag in a video shared by the NBA on Monday.
“The bag’s undefeated,” he said of the bag, formally known as the Tux Clutch Mini and available for preorder now.
In the same video, KAT said he wanted “everyone in New York to know that bag won the championship,” calling it “one of the greatest clothing articles in the history of basketball.”
Woods’ orange clutch was a staple at Knicks games this season, eventually leading to many fans naming it among the arguable good luck charms for the team. Per Woods herself, the chatter surrounding the $125 accessory “happened in the most organic way.”
Presumably, Spurs fans, whether they subscribe to good luck charm ideology or not, are wishing like hell right now that they’d had a clutch of their own to lay claim to in recent weeks. Instead, they’re still reeling from the loss of a chip that at one point seemed like it may have been within their grasp.
