Dave Portnoy and his media company Barstool Sports just landed a huge deal with FOX Sports, and Portnoy will be coming to your TV screen soon.
Portnoy, 48, took to his X account on Thursday, July 17, to make the announcement via an “emergency press conference” and share the news.
“This is the 1st time in our illustrious and notorious history that we’ve got a Tv partner we believe in and believes in us,” Portnoy writes.
The video shows Portnoy superimposed across various sports related highlights, announcing that he will be appearing on the college football pregame show Big Noon Kickoff. In addition, there will be a new weekly show called Barstool College Football Show.
Portnoy previously tried to make his way onto mainstream television with Barstool Van Talk starring PFT Commenter and Big Cat, but the series only lasted one singular episode.
“We’re excited to welcome Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports to the FOX Sports family,” Eric Shanks, CEO & Executive Producer of FOX Sports said in a statement posted to FOX Sports PressPass. “Their unique voice and loyal fanbase makes them a natural fit for our evolving multiplatform content strategy,” he continues.
Fans commented underneath Portnoy’s announcement on X sharing congratulations. One wrote, “That is Incredible. I cannot wait for this content🔥.”
Barstool reporter Kayce Smith left a comment, writing, “This fall is going to be electric.”
Portnoy will bring his passion for the game to Big Noon Kickoff, combining his knowledge of football with his understanding of culture and fanbases to contribute weekly.
As a part of the partnership, Barstool will be producing and delivering a two-hour long program that will air Monday-Friday and have popular Barstool personalities and FOX Sports talent join in interviews and discussions. The launch date and window have not yet been announced.
