Randy Moss is asking for prayers after revealing that he's in the middle of a health scare,

"Throughout the week of the holidays, your boy has been battling something internal," Moss said on Instagram this Sunday. "I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times."

Moss' message came a week after fans commented on his unusual appearance during last week's broadcast.

"I got a great team of doctors and I got a great family around me," Moss continued, before encouraging viewers to take care of themselves. "Y'all do your checkups, get your blood work done, and we'll work through it."

Moss wore sunglasses for the broadcast, and explained his reasoning for sporting the accessories.

"All right, so you see me with my Michigan turnover glasses on, y'all know what I'm battling. God bless y'all. Thanks for the prayers," he said. "There's going to be people concerned and asking questions. At this time, I'm just going to keep a lot of things private. Just bear with me. But like I said, I need your prayers."

Moss repeated his sentiments on the live broadcast of Sunday NFL Countdown and let fans know that if they see him with sunglasses again during the show, it's not a sign of disrespect. Instead, he just needs people to pray for him.

The 47-year-old played in the NFL for 14 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers.
