Jalen Brunson isn't wasting any time adding another accomplishment to his résumé.
Just days after leading the New York Knicks to their first NBA championship since 1973, the star point guard announced that he is releasing his debut children's book, Jalen Plays It All.
The picture book will tell the story of Brunson's path to NBA stardom, focusing not just on basketball but on the many sports he tried growing up before finding his true passion.
"I hope kids read this book and realize they don't have to have everything figured out," Brunson said in a statement. "Keep trying new things, keep learning and keep putting in the work. You never know where those experiences might take you."
According to the official synopsis, Brunson "doesn't always get it right, but he never stops trying, even when he feels like giving up."
The book features illustrations by Neely Daggett and will be published by Feiwel & Friends. An official release date has not yet been announced, though Brunson joked on social media that the book is coming "as soon as possible."
On Instagram, the Knicks captain said the story reflects a lesson he learned firsthand.
"This children's book is a story about discovering that success doesn't happen overnight," Brunson wrote. "There are mistakes, setbacks and moments when giving up may feel easier than pushing forward."
He added that while basketball ultimately became his calling, the other sports he played helped shape his character and work ethic.
"Every sport I played helped build the habits, character and work ethic that made me who I am," Brunson wrote.
The announcement comes at the height of Brunson's popularity in New York. The 29-year-old recently capped off a historic season by guiding the Knicks to an NBA title, ending a 53-year championship drought and cementing his status as one of the most beloved athletes in the city.
