Anthony Edwards had some choice words for Jayson Tatum during a regular season matchup that was highlighted in the new Netflix basketball series Starting 5.

On Wednesday, Starting 5 premiered on the popular streaming app, and one of its key moments featured Edwards and Tatum locking up during a game early in the season. Edwards explained that playing the Boston Celtics would be a "dogfight" and that he had to show up against what would eventually become the 2024 NBA champions.

Edwards went to work and dropped 38 points, leading the Timberwolves to a 114-109 victory against the Celtics. Cameras followed Edwards back to the locker room, where he reflected on how big the game was for his team. He also talked a bit of trash about Tatum and him being the "best player in the league."

"You seen Tatum trying to get me on the switch, locked his ass up two times," said Edwards in the locker room. "Tatum was talking crazy saying, 'Yeah, I'm here,' then I said, 'I'm coming again.' Talking bout best player in the league y'all trippin'."

Tatum ended up having the last laugh as he helped bring the Celtics their record 18th championship when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games. Following the win, Tatum signed an extension worth $314 million over five years, which is the largest contract in NBA history.
