This past weekend, Coachella had Madonna surprising the crowd during Sabrina Carpenter's headlining set, Justin Bieber delivering his long-awaited comeback performance, and Karol G making history as the first Latina artist to headline the festival. But about 260 miles northeast, a very different kind of party was going down.
On Sunday, April 19, Rob Gronkowski closed out WrestleMania weekend with Gronk Beach Presented by DoorDash, transforming Marquee Dayclub at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas into a late-night festival for over 2,000 fans. WWE Superstars Tiffany Stratton, Trick Williams, Lash Legend, and Oba Femi were all in the building, alongside performances from DJ IRIE, Myles O'Neal, Dante, and DJ A.J.
At one point during the night, Gronkowski reportedly spotted a fan holding a replica Lombardi Trophy with a Denver Broncos logo on it, grabbed it, and spiked it on the spot. Which tracks. The four-time Super Bowl champ has been putting Lombardi Trophies in danger for years — denting one at Fenway Park in 2019 and breaking another while tossing it around with Tom Brady at Fanatics Fest last summer.
The energy didn’t stop there. Earlier in the evening, Gronkowski and 49ers tight end George Kittle went head-to-head in a beer chugging contest that quickly went viral across social media. While it's not crystal clear who won, SportsCenter dropped the clip on X, where fans wasted no time weighing in.
"😂Kittle edges out Gronk in the beer chug—Gronk spilled half! Classic WrestleMania chaos🍺," one person wrote in the comments section.
"Two absolute legends showing everyone how to celebrate in style!" another said.
"WrestleMania never disappoints with these random vibes," chimed in a third.
“This is what it’s all about 🍻,” someone else added.
Gronk Beach is produced by Medium Rare, the same company behind Travis Kelce's Kelce Jam, Shaq's Fun House, and Guy Fieri's Flavortown Tailgate. This was the event's second year as the official WrestleMania afterparty, following last year's edition at LIV Beach at Fontainebleau Las Vegas during WrestleMania 41, which featured Flo Rida and Damian Priest. Past Gronk Beach editions have drawn The Chainsmokers, Diplo, Lil Jon, Bill Belichick, the Chiefs' Kelce, Russell Westbrook, and Lizzo.
"WrestleMania weekend has this incredible energy that never stops," Gronkowski said ahead of the event, according to Sports Illustrated. "It reminds me of a Super Bowl atmosphere."
Gronkowski, who officially retired as a Patriot last November and is currently a Patriots Hall of Fame finalist, may be done playing football, but Sunday night made it clear he’s not done throwing parties.
