It should go without saying, but never greet Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, or any mixed martial artist, by putting them in a choke hold.

Jackson was on his Kick stream on Tuesday (Feb. 24) when someone snuck up on him, and put the former UFC light heavyweight champion in a half-hearted rear naked choke. The fan quickly relinquished the hold, and tried to dap up Jackson, who was not amused.

“That’s how you gonna greet me? You gonna walk up on me, and try to choke me?” he asked.

Jackson sprung to his feet, and continued pressing the fan over the unwanted greeting. “You gonna walk up on me, and try to put me in the guillotine? You think that’s a greeting?” he asked.

Rampage then placed the fan in a rear naked choke, causing him to immediately tap out.

“You think that’s a greeting?” Jackson asked once more before extending for a handshake, to which the fan obliged.

Even though Jackson did not seem entirely serious throughout their interaction, there was a valuable lesson to be learned. Never put a mixed martial artist in a choke hold when you meet them for the first time.
