When the Cleveland Cavaliers step onto the Madison Square Garden court on Wednesday, Joakim Noah is going to see them as his enemies. However, today is a different story. When informed of the decision of LeBron James and half of his Cavaliers teammates to not stay at the Donald Trump-branded hotel in New York City prior to their game, Noah's immediate reaction was "good," according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

"I think it's just a comfort level, you know. Stick to your principles. Whoever you are," Noah said. "Trump is our president. But that doesn't mean we have to stay at his hotel." When asked if he would also no longer stay in Trump hotels, the Knicks center said he probably would not.

Noah is no stranger to taking a stance in order to get his point across. Back in September, the 31-year-old skipped a team dinner, which included an opportunity to meet with West Point cadets. "I wasn’t there, to be honest with you," he explained. "It’s hard for me a little bit. I have a lot of respect for the kids who are out here fighting. But it’s hard for me to understand why we have to go to war, why kids have to kill kids around the world. So I have mixed feelings about being here. I’m very proud of this country. I love America, but I just don’t understand kids killing kids around the world."

As Noah leans towards avoiding Trump hotels in the future, his teammate, Derrick Rose, still has the Trump condominium in downtown Chicago that he bought in 2012. With an unfavorable market, Rose says he has no plans to sell the condo until the time is right.
