In light of the outcome of this year's presidential election, the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies, and Dallas Mavericks have reportedly decided to no longer stay at Donald Trump-branded hotels during road games this season. Bucks forward Jabari Parker says he's "proud" to be one of the NBA teams taking this stance because the President-elect has "attacked everything that I am and believe" throughout his campaign.

"He ran his campaign on hate. He’s attacked everything that I am and believe," Parker told Nubyjas Wilborn of Sporting News. "I was named by a Muslim man. My mother didn’t get her citizenship until much later in life. She is basically an immigrant because she came from Tonga. She was paid less because she was a woman. I'm black, and he's said some controversial stuff about black people. When it comes to me not supporting Donald Trump, it's correlated to the things he has said. I have a gay uncle. All the things he said in his campaign are things I can’t associate myself with."

Parker recalls the night Trump got elected as "watching a scary movie," adding that he was "amazed" to see how many people voted for a person with such extreme campaign rhetoric. As for the positives that can be taken away from this presidential election, Jabari believes that we will realize how special Barack Obama was, while appreciating Michelle Obama for being "the epitome of class and grace." Many of us should be are already at that point.
