Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson have agreed to an exhibition boxing match slated for next year, as reported by TMZ.
Even though a location or exact date have not yet been determined, the tabloid is reporting their match is expected to take place in the spring of 2026.
The last time he stepped into the ring, Mayweather, 48, competed against John Gotti III in an exhibition fight in Aug. 2024. The 59-year-old Tyson lost to Jake Paul by unanimous decision two months later. The lopsided outcome ignited several theories claiming the match was rigged.
"This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen," Tyson tells TMZ. "However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable -- and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets."
Iron Mike wasted no time getting in some trash talk, questioning why Floyd would sign up for an exhibition match against him.
"I still can't believe Floyd wants to really do this," he added. "It's going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it's signed and it's happening."
Mayweather believes this exhibition match between two boxing legends will "give the fans what they want."
"I've been doing this for 30 years and there hasn't been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy," he said. "You already know that if I am going to do something, it's going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I'm the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want."
