Lamar Odom is spending part of his weekend in custody after being busted for a DUI in Las Vegas.
As first spotted by to TMZ, early on Saturday morning (January 17), the former NBA player was arrested for driving under the influence. Odom also caught two additional traffic violations for driving over forty-one miles per hour over the speed limit and failure to maintain his driving lane.
The retired athlete, who was previously arrested for a DUI in Los Angeles in 2013, is still in custody according to online records.
Odom, 46, has undergone years of drug and alcohol abuse, and in 2015, he suffered an overdose at a Las Vegas brothel. His then-wife, Khloé Kardashian, supported Odom throughout his recovery, although she would eventually file for divorce, which was finalized in 2016 after seven years of marriage.
In January 2025, Odom recalled the near-fatal overdose on the Australian radio show Kyle & Jackie O Show and recounted having "twelve strokes and six heart attacks" at the time.
"I remember on my way to that damn brothel, I remember being upset that I didn’t have any cocaine to take to the brothel … I had just signed the divorce papers [Kardashian had originally filed for divorce in December, 2013, though she stopped the proceedings after the Vegas incident] and I thought I was just gonna go all the way in," he continued.
Odom was in a coma for four days after the drug binge and said that he couldn't "walk or talk" after waking up in the hospital.
Lamar and Kardashian would have a tense conversation on a season six episode of Hulu's The Kardashians, where the ex-NBA player expressed regret for his mistakes made during their marriage. Kardashian would move on with her now-ex, professional basketball player Tristian Thompson, with whom she shares two children, True, 7, and Tatum, 3.
