Anyone who follows Barstool Sports knows that owner Dave Portnoy is a huge fan of the Indiana Fever, as well as all things Caitlin Clark. Portnoy is also a self-proclaimed fan of Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, who joined the team earlier this year. Despite this, he recently revealed that, despite earlier consideration, he has no plans to do any kind of business with Cunningham and Barstool.

Cunningham recently announced that she has launched a new podcast alongside West Wilson, who is a reality television star from the show Summer House and a producer. The podcast’s name is Tell Me Something, and they have released two episodes so far.

In a recent episode of The Unnamed Show podcast, Portnoy explained why he decided to pass on partnering with Cunningham for a podcast, citing the difficulty of working with her agents and Cunningham’s own already busy schedule.

“It wasn't so much her; any time I have to deal with agents, it's hard,” he began. “I really thought we would be carrying so much of the weight, marketing, all this s***, and her focus wasn't going to be the podcast. It was just one amongst 9,000 things she was doing. And so it felt like we were getting screwed."

While there may not technically be any bad blood between Cunningham and Portnoy, it doesn’t sound like he’s hoping for her success with her new business endeavor.

“So now, I like her, but I'm kind of rooting against her,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Cunningham has already gotten into some hot water with the WNBA for her first episode of the podcast. She recently revealed that she was fined $1,500 for comments she made. Throughout the episode, Cunningham stood by Fever star Clark, criticizing those who deny that she is the face of the league.
