Ezekiel Elliott Reportedly Thought Jerry Jones' 'Zeke Who?' Comment Was 'Disrespectful'

As the NFL season approaches, neither the Cowboys nor Ezekiel Elliott have flinched a muscle in their standoff. Jerry Jones might have added to the tension with his latest comments about the running back.

Although rookie running back Tony Pollard has put together a tremendous preseason, he's hardly a suitable replacement for Elliott. While Elliott is holding out in hopes to restructure his contract, many fans think Jones is using Pollard's performance to bring Zeke back into the fold. But when asked if Pollard was his "best negotiator" with Zeke, Jones was reluctant to show his full hand.

"I didn't think it was funny and neither did Zeke," Elliott's agent Rocky Arceneaux told Mortensen. "We actually thought it was disrespectful."

Mortensen went on to say that Elliott is still training at a "great facility" in Mexico but they have not started contract negotiations with the Cowboys.

The Cowboys have been wearing themselves thin trying to negotiate contract extensions with Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott. But it appears that Jerry is more interested in keeping his leading wide receiver and quarterback happy than he is Elliott. As a result, Elliott has gone on record stating that he's prepared to sit out the entire season if Jones isn't willing to pay him.
