Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys are bringing in the holidays with a little charity. The team is looking to give a total of $42,000 to the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
Elliott will match every $21 donation to the Red Kettle Campaign, which is done in the spirit of his jersey number, up to $21,000. The Cowboys organization will put in their $21,000 as well.
The Salvation Army and Zeke have a friendly history. After scoring a touchdown in a 2016 game against the Buccaneers, Elliott celebrated by hopping inside the large kettle that borders NFL endzones during this time of the season.
Although he was penalized, the moment became a viral sensation that Elliott parlayed into a donation opportunity for the Salvation Army, raising close to $250,000. This became the blueprint for Elliott and the Cowboy's current campaign.
