Lamar Odom still views Khloé Kardashian as “family.”

The retired NBA player appeared on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, where he discussed his relationship with Kardashian. Last February, during the Season 6 premiere of The Kardashians, the exes reunited for the first time in nine years in a bid for closure. The meeting took place at Khloé’s friend Malika Haqq's house, and Kardashian deliberately didn't tell her sisters or her mother about it.

When asked what that reunion was like, Odom called it “awkward.”

“It wasn’t really good for me,” he added, “but once you family, you’re always family. She ain’t going nowhere,” he said of Khloé.

The hosts then asked if he saw them getting back together. “I will always have love for her, but being in love, no,” he explained.

During The Kardashians episode, in a confessional, Khloé opened up about her marriage, calling Lamar “the love of my life.”

“I got married when I was 24 and although him and I got married 30 days to the day after meeting one another, I loved him with all of my heart and soul,” she continued, per People. “I took my vows very seriously, and I was married for about seven years, but there were bigger things that were not fixable in that marriage,” she recalled.

She also shared that the “last time” she saw Lamar was in 2016.

“I haven’t had contact with Lamar in nine years, and I just think it’s time to shed as much as I can,” she said.

The former couple married in 2009, a month after meeting, and Kardashian later filed for divorce in 2013. After finalizing the divorce in 2015, Khloé called it off when Odom overdosed. She later filed again in 2016, which was finalized that same year.

Odom’s new Untold documentary, The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, is now available to stream on Netflix.
