Some members of Deiondra Sanders’ family weren’t exactly thrilled when they discovered she was expecting with her ex, Jacquees.
Deiondra—whose father is Deion Sanders—appeared on the Deep End with Lecrae, who asked how her family reacted to the news that she was pregnant.
“They really didn't like him for the way that he treated me, so they was really mad,” she says at the 38:20 minute mark. “Everybody felt some kind of way, but my dad knew the issues I had with fibroids and stuff like that. He knew I always wanted a family so he was like, ‘Okay, I understand that.’ He actually wasn't as mad as I thought he would be.”
Her brothers didn’t feel the same way.
“They was just like, ‘You're gonna let this n***a in our family?’” she recalled. “They're very protective of me.”
She revealed that she also had to “forgive” herself for her choices.
“I had to forgive myself ‘cause like no matter how much in love I was, love make you do some crazy things and it make you blind,” she explained. “Seeing it from the outside, it's like dang, I really deserve better, and it's like, Deiondra, you know you would have never put up with that normally … So I kind of was upset at myself for a very long time, like a very long time for just allowing [myself] to be the fool.”
Deiondra and Jacquees welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Snow, on Aug. 9, 2024, the same day as her father’s birthday. The month prior, in July, Jacquees proposed to Deiondra at their baby shower, to which she said yes. However, the pair broke up last year.
Over the last few months, the exes have had public disputes over co-parenting, with Deiondra recently denying Jacquees's accusations that she prevented him from seeing their son.
