Alex Rodriguez Sent Jennifer Lopez a Creepy Text From the Bathroom on Their First Date

You know that feeling when you’re on a date with one of the most beautiful women in the world but you aren’t 100 percent sure that it’s actually a date and then she tells you that it is, in fact, a date, and you start flipping out a little bit on the inside because the magnitude of the moment hits you and you just have to dip off to the bathroom for a minute to compose yourself?

Uh, yeah, no. You don’t have any idea what that’s like because, well, you’re not Alex Rodriguez. But A-Rod found himself in that exact situation when he was on his first date with Jennifer Lopez. He talked about it during a recent interview with Vanity Fair for their December 2017 issue. We'll let him tell you what it was like:

A win-win? Yes. But… it would be much better if it was a date, right? Yup, and A-Rod—who apparently still tells time by innings, for some reason—quickly found out that this was much more than just two mega-famous people grabbing a bite.

"She told me around the third or fourth inning that she was single," he said. "I had to get up and go re-adjust my thoughts. I went to the bathroom and got enough courage to send her a text."

Yup, that’s right. That’s what A-Rod did. And it wasn’t just any text, either. A-Rod sent J.Lo what amounted to a really creepy text, especially when you consider that, just five minutes prior, he didn’t even know he was on a date with her. Let’s let J.Lo tell this part.

"So I’m sitting there and he’s walking back, and I get a text," she told Vanity Fair. "It says…'You look sexy AF.'"

Somehow, that didn’t completely scare J.Lo off. She actually laughed while telling the story and also revealed that a fire alarm went off a few minutes later and made her first date with A-Rod even stranger than it already was.
