High School Football Players Who Attacked Referee Say Their Coach Told Them to Do It

The high school football players who viciously attacked a defenseless referee say their coach told them to do it.

Appearing on Good Morning America alongside their attorney, the two seemed regretful when recounting the incident but were careful with their word choices while trying to place all of the blame on the assistant coach who allegedly ordered the attack.

You honestly feel a bit bad for the kids here, because it's clear that they're at an extremely impressionable age and that if they were, in fact, told to do this by a coach in the heat of the moment, they might not have had a chance to fully understand the repercussions.

But watch what they did again, and you'll realize that whatever the reasons for their actions, the players need to be severely punished.
