Former WCW star Marcus Alexander "Buff" Bagwell has hit another hurdle in his battle to a full recovery after a devastating car crash.

Bagwell's longtime friend, Steve Stasiak shared the unfortunate news with fans Friday, July 18. Stasiak included a photo of Buff in a hospital bed, shortly after the procedure, revealing the amputation was just above the knee.

Stasiak included an emotional message in the post, saying, "I’ve known Buff a long time. I’ve seen him in the spotlight, I’ve seen him behind the scenes, and I’ve seen him fight through things most people never even hear about. This one… this is hard."

Bagwell was in a bad car wreck back in 2020, and Stasiak says those injuries never fully healed ... leading to the amputation.

Steve adds, "He gave it everything he had to avoid this outcome—but that fight led him here. And now begins a whole new kind of battle. Buff was one of the brightest stars of a wild era in wrestling."

According to multiple reports in 2020 citing police narrative from The Cobb County PD, Bagwell lost control of his Chevy Tahoe and crashed into a metal fence before hitting a restroom at a bus station. He was rushed to a hospital with severe injuries.

Bagwell has been very open about his battle with sobriety over the years, sharing honest conversations on his YouTube channel with his fans. He's also been in and out of jail for issues over the years.

However, it's clear now the WCW star is facing a new battle, and in ending his post to Bagwell's fans, the wrestler's friend, Steve Stasiak says, "If you’re reading this, I just ask that you send a little love out into the world for Buff. No grand gestures. Just something real. A thought, a prayer, a moment."
